Cubed The Diver & The Duck Hunter
Worked on two versions of the non-commercial project Cubed called ‘Cubed The Diver’ and ‘Cubed The Duckhunter’. The first one during my internship as a personal assignment and the second one as a production assistent and stop motion animator.
For Cubed The Diver I developed the story and timing on the Cube together with Rogier. Interaction designer Gijs Leijdekkers animated the diver in Maya/3D, illustrator and animator Iris van den Akker rotoscoped the turtle in Illustrator, and I animated the shark, fishes and jellyfish in After Effects. I also made the whirlpool animation in 3D and exported all the frames to Illustrator. Then Illustrator and studio producer Danièle Knirim and I glued all the boxes together which I animated on set, together with the little fishy at the end.
For Cubed The Duckhunter animator Kayliegh Schaafsma rigged and animated a walking duck in Maya, so I could make him fly and land in Maya and After Effects. I exported all the frames, used the lasercutter and glued the frames together with Danièle Knirim. Then I stop motion animated little flying birds and the Cubed-frames on set.
You can see Cubed The Diver edited in two parts in my showreel. But both Cubed shorts aren’t officially online yet.
